Ruler is a useful tool to make the layout of your document tidy and well-organized. But in Word 2016 it doesn’t show by default.

If you want to toggle it on, click View and select Ruler in Show.

Now the Ruler has shown. You can edit your document with it. Or if you want to hide it, simply click Ruler again.
